Kaus is a leading the way in the insurance industry. With over 30 years of business, they have been working through regional agents, selling the policies to them instead of directly to customers. However, with the rise of internet and personal devices, Kaus has been losing ground. See what I did to help them catch up.
To gain an understanding of the current state of insurance and our users, I conducted interviews, created an competitive analysis document, and an empathy map. These documents helped me gain insights about what our users need and want from this product. I then created an Empahy map to synthesize my findings and developed my persona, Justin Lopez, to represent my target audience.
Once I determined what Justin's needs and goals were, I created a site map, user flow, task flow, and card sorting document to begin strategizing how information would be laid out for this website.
Once I had the information I needed, I created wireframes to help lay it out. I then designed a brand style tile, new logos and UI kit to bring out the messsage of what KAUS is about.
Bringing all of my design documents together, I created a high fidelity prototype to test my design desicions with users. I used an Affinity Map to create pull out common problems users had with my designs and applied revisions to the new version.
After updating my previous designs, I would re test my prototype again to new users. Once it is in a good place and ia approved by our stakeholders, I can start handing off the design to the engineering team.
